Burberry is England’s largest
fashion house and it is
founded by Thomas Burberry
in 1856. He was only 21 years
old when he founded on of the
histories most powerful
fashion companies. In 1870
Burberry started production of
outdoor attire after a
successful start. In 1901, the
Equestrian Knight Logo was
developed containing the Latin
word “Prosum”, which means
forwards, and registered as a
Trademark. Ronald Amundsen
was dressed in Burberry when
he was the first man on the
South Pole. In 1914 Burberry
was commissioned by the War
Office to adapt an officer’s
coat, which resulted in
the “trench coat”. The
famous “Burberry classic
check” was created in 1924
and was lining in the trench
coats. In 1967 was “Burberry
Check” created and “The
nova check” was created
short time after and
introduced for the younger
market. In 2006 came “The
House check” finally.
Burberry is famous world
wide for their bags, belts,
scarves,
sunglasses,
fragrances and textiles and it
is one of the easiest brands to
recognize because of the
different “Checks” they have
